The Good Vibes (Comic) Book Club returns for another night of nerdery and nonsense at Kona Club! This month, we’ve got a spicy little lineup that’ll hit you in the nostalgia, the multiverse confusion, and the Fantastic Feels. Let’s go:
🔥 Ultimate Spider-Man #16 – Marco Checchetto is drawing the hell outta locker room angst and mid-air acrobatics. Jonathan Hickman is firing on all cylinders. Most of the gang is reading this one monthly. I
🔥 Assorted Crisis Events #2 – Look, you ever try to explain one of these to a normal human and just slowly dissolve into salt? Same. But somehow, this still rules. Deniz Camp is running a multiverse marathon in steel-toed boots and I’m here for the chaos. This issue features: a crisis, another crisis, a dog with eye lasers (probably), and the return of a guy named “Time-Slasher” (okay I made that one up but it feels right). Jordie Bellaire on colors again because greatness recognizes greatness.
🔥 Bitter Root: The Next Movement – This is the one you give someone who says comics can’t be serious art. It’s 1964, the Civil Rights Movement is raging, and the Sangeryes, monster-hunting royalty, are back. The jinoo, creatures born from hate, have evolved, and now the horror’s in the streets, the laws, the lies that hold up broken systems. David F. Walker and Chuck Brown bring fire, and Sanford Greene’s art is wild and unforgettable. This ain’t just a comic, it’s a righteous punch to the chest. Come correct.
